Job Description IGCSE / A level / IB Teacher – Very competitive salary

A leading International Centre in Shanghai is going to recruit experienced and qualified A level and IGCSE subject teachers to join their international faculty. You will be teaching highly motivated and diligent Chinese students, maximizing their academic potential and preparing them for Western Universities.

A significant difference for teachers in this organisation is the quality of the student population. Word of mouth referrals and excellent academic results have resulted in a high demand for places. Last summer they had 1500 applicants and selected the top 330 for admission. These students are academically in the top two deciles and the majority are highly motivated to succeed. The huge demand within China for the A-level education system inevitably gives room for expansion and subsequent opportunities for career development for any committed and competent education professionals.

Now we are looking to recruit several teachers in different positions. Detail information as follows:

Teacher of English, Physics, Maths, Science, Chemistry, Business Studies, Economics, Biology, ICT, Geography and History

Person Specification:
-IGCSE / A Level experience preferred
-Strong subject teachers able to challenge and engage high ability pupils
-Bachelor degree or above in the relevant subject being taught
-Recognized teaching diploma/certificate or master degree in relevant subject is preferred
-Good communication skills, organised ability and sensitivity towards other cultures
-Self motivated and good team player

Minimum position requirements:

-Bachelor degree of above in the relevant subject being taught
-A recognized teaching diploma/certificate is preferred or masters in relevant subject
-An understanding of teaching ESL students and sensitivity towards other cultures
-A demonstrated high level of commitment to teaching excellence
-An understanding and commitment to being a team player
-The role involves teaching according to CIE subject
specifications, as well as contributing to Centre activities and course development.
