Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) invites applications for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs. A comprehensive state university, CCSU, established in 1849, is the oldest public institution of higher education in Connecticut. CCSU offers a broad array of liberal arts, science, and professional programs that lead to Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, 6th Year Certificates, and Ed.Ds in Education Leadership. With approximately 10,000 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate level students, CCSU is the largest institution in the four-campus Connecticut State University System.

Vice President for Student Affairs

The Vice President for Student Affairs serves as the senior officer for the University for supporting its students in various aspects of campus life and serves as a member of the President’s Executive Committee. The ideal candidate will articulate a vision that joins student affairs with academic values, will have experience with recruitment and retention, and will give evidence of the ability to inspire students, faculty and staff around common objectives.

The starting salary is competitive and a broad range of fringe benefits is offered.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctoral degree
A minimum of five years of management experience in Student Affairs at a public institution
Strong leadership and fiscal management skills
Experience with professional unions and collective bargaining units

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work well with diverse groups
Experience in several student service areas including, but not limited to: residence life, student conduct, student activities, student center, counseling and wellness, first year experience, student orientation, veteran’s affairs, disability services, health services, GLBT services and multi-cultural programming.

An equivalent combination of credentials and/or experience may also be considered.
