School Size/Description: Falmouth Public Schools is a single school district of approximately 2,150 students in grades K-12. These pupils are presently housed in four school buildings: Lunt School (K-2), Plummer-Motz (gr. 3, 4), Falmouth Middle School (gr. 5-8), and Falmouth High School (9-12). The eight administrators consist of an elementary principal, K-2; an elementary principal, gr. 3-4; a middle school principal for gr. 5-8; a senior high school principal for gr. 9-12; the business manager, director of special services, assistant superintendent and the technology integration coordinator. The school board has seven members and the annual school budget is approximately $22 million.
Community Description: Located adjacent to Portland, Maine's largest city, Falmouth offers an aesthetically pleasant combination of scenic shore front and rolling countryside. Principally a residential community, Falmouth is ideally placed on the Maine turnpike, U.S. Route 1, as well as Interstate 95 and 295, only two hours away from Boston.
